Family Weekend

This weekend Shawn's Dad, Mom and brother Troy were in town and everyone stayed at our house. It was a tight fit, but we managed to make it work. Kiley slept in our room, Stephanie and Vic slept in Kiley's room and Troy slept on the couch in the living room.

We didn't have a big agenda, just pretty much hung around, played games and talked. On Sunday we all went down to Seaworld. It was not as crowded as I expected, but we got sunburned. My back is burned and Shawn's forehead is burned. Stephanie and Vic bought Kiley her very own seal stuffed animal which she loves. She only slept for a little bit at Seaworld, but overall, she wasn't a total grumpy baby. She was really only grumpy when we went to see a show. Shawn had to take her out of the
Shamu show because she did not want to sit there and be good. But, she slept good Sunday night!

Mr. Ashton

I have been missing my nephew Ashton a ton since he went back home to Utah. Just wanted to post my favorite picture of him.

Not a whole lot has been going on with us, just trying to stay cool. Don, the guy that rents our condo from us gave us this dog bed for Hank and Darla. I took a few pictures for everyone to see. They share so well and they just love their dog bed.

HOT! HOT! HOT!

It has been so stinking hot lately! I think it was like 107 degrees today. I got home at around 2:00 and ran the A/C for a few hours and I was still sweating until like 6:00 p.m. Granted our house is really old and the air conditioner could probably use a little work but it should be cooling off a little bit by now. I've been kind of concerned about the dogs, their kennels are in the garage and it's a lot cooler in there than outside, but it's still very hot. I wish we could leave them inside while we're gone, but they can't be trusted on their own. Maybe we could just give them away to someone who lives at the beach and they can hang out and go swimming every day. . . No way, we couldn't do that!

Busy Busy Weekend

This weekend has been super busy. It started Thursday night (Our 4th Anniversary). Shawn and I went to Riverside to PF Changs and the Cheesecake Factory for dessert. We were only supposed to get each other cards, but Shawn went and got me some roses also.
Then we drove to Ontario Airport and picked up Melissa and my favorite nephew, ASHTON!

On Friday it was Joe's High School Graduation. It was a bit Long, but we are just so happy that he graduated! Then after the graduation, we headed over to my parents for dinner and cake with the new graduate.

On Saturday morning we had all the great-grand children in the Ford Family go over to my parents house to take a picture together. This is probably one of the only times that the great-grand children will all be together at the same time. Taking the picture was a challenge. With 11 children all under the age of 10, it made it a bit difficult to keep them all happy and keep them all in their assigned spots. Dad even put his clown hair and nose on to keep all the kids entertained. It was difficult, but I think in a few years it will be worth it.

Then Saturday night we had a Father's Day party because Dad is not actually going to be home on Father's day. The 5 of us kids all got together and made a picture book for Dad which also included letters from each of us and Mom. Like we all expected, he cried. And he mentioned that this was the best present that he has ever received.

And now it's Father's Day and Kiley and I got up bright and early at 6:45am (not by my choice) and made Shawn a Father's Day breakfast of Eggs, Bacon, and Cinnamon Rolls. And I have been trying to not let Shawn do anything for himself today, but just now, Hank threw up in the hallway and Shawn cleaned it up. I'm horrible for not cleaning it up on Father's Day, but I have an extremely weak stomach.

The Dogs

I realized that we haven't posted any pictures of the dogs on our blog. How sad. Shawn and I gave them baths on Sunday and we took some pictures of the dogs after their baths. Surprisingly enough, Darla did pretty good. She only attempted to escape maybe 2 times. PS: Click on the photo of Hank to enlarge it and see how happy he looks!!!

The Look

I'm not sure why it's happening so early in her life, but Kiley is giving us a teenager attitude. She gives us this look....the picture says it all. The look that says "what do you want?" The look that says we aren't worth her precious time. The look that says "leave me alone."
I'm sure my dad would say I deserve every bit of this, but honestly, what the heck. She throws these little fits where she will NOT look at us. She turns her head and completely ignores us. We could be holding her and doing everything in our power to try to get a smile out of her, but Nothing. She turns her head and pretends like we aren't even there. Gosh, I always knew girls were drama queens, but I never knew it started so early! -- Michelle

Worst Fans

Something that I feel needs to be said. Boston sports fans are probably the most ridiculous people out there. Obviously I can't say that's true for every Boston fan out there. But there are a few recurring themes among these despicable people. The biggest thing that I've noticed that really bothers me, is that they are more worried about letting people know about how great Boston fans are. They're more passionate, they're not fair weather fans (a giant lie!) they're the most knowledgeable (almost as big of a lie), and loudest. If they weren't fair weather fans, or if they really were the best fans, then why would they need to go so far with talking themselves up. They come off as being more proud of the fact that they are a Boston fan than they are about the actual teams. Just because you're a fan of a certain team, that doesn't really improve or affect any sort of status of yours in any way whatsoever, unless you're a futbol hooligan. The other thing that really bothers me is that there are more Red Sox fans who live away from Boston, than fans who live in Boston. Which is fine, but just because you like the Red Sox, that doesn't mean you are obligated to like the Patriots or Celtics. Or especially the Bruins if you're not even a fan of hockey. I have always been partial to the Expos/ Nationals. I'm not a Redskins/ Wizards/ Capitals fan now because they play in Washington.
The Whole point in this is how stupid I feel people are who so desperately want to be a part of a group that gets to enjoy the successes of winning teams that they'll lie to themselves and everyone else about why they really are a fan of those teams.

Shawns Update

I said I was going to start working out more and that I'd give a little bit of an update. It's been about a month I guess since I started, and I've definitely gotten a lot stronger and I've probably gained about 8 or 9 pounds. I don't think that there are any differences you'd notice if you looked at me, but I'm not too worried about that, I feel a lot better and if I keep at it, I'm sure there'll be noticeable results. . . eventually.
