Fitness

For whatever reason I have kind of decided that I'm going to try to start running more again, and maybe even go back to the gym regularly. It's been about 2 weeks now since I started, and I can tell I'm a little stronger, a little faster, can run a little longer than I could before, and it feels pretty good. Typically I hate when we have to go for runs and workout and stuff like that, it hurts. . . But now I'm actually looking forward to it every day. Hopefully I can keep up with it and start to some real results pretty soon. I'll let you all know how it's going.

Pool Time!

Kiley had her first pool time experience today. She wasn't scared, but didn't act too excited. She just sort of hung out. She got to wear her bathing suit for the 1st time and wore "little swimmer's" diapers that were WAY too big (We couldn't find anything smaller then size 16-23 lbs).

Just in case you all were wondering why you might not see too many pictures of Kiley with Michelle, I thought I'd explain a little bit so you don't think I'm some sort of picture hog.
1. Michelle takes really good pictures.
She really knows what she's doing framing pictures and zooming in and out and stuff, and most of the pictures she takes turn out to be really good. The ones I take look I was trying to center the photo on the bottom of the couch.
2. She doesn't like to look at herself in pictures.
It doesn't matter if she's the most beautiful person I know or not, she hates to have me take pictures of her.
3. I'm gorgeous.
Why wouldn't she want to take as many pictures of me as possible? I'm freakin' amazing!

Favorite Pic

Just thought I would share my new favorite picture with everyone. She loves her daddy!

Head Ache

So I'm sure most of the people who would even read this already know about my constant head aches. I have had a head ache EVERY day for the past couple of months. Sometimes it starts as early as when I wake up and might last until I go to bed at night. It's starting to affect my daily life. I feel a loss of energy and a definite lack of patience.

I even went to the doctor for help and we all know how often I go to the doctors....NEVER. I only go to the doctors when I have to. This has become a doctor situation. The horrible part is that I went to the doctor and the doctor didn't really know what to tell me. He wasn't able to figure out what the problem was. His only solution to the problem was to prescribe me with muscle relaxers. He found a muscle spasm in my neck and thinks that the muscle relaxers will solve this problem and hopefully will also stop the headaches. It hasn't worked. And, the muscle relaxers make me very tired and dizzy.

I'm not big on medicine and I really don't like the idea of taking Advil everyday. I really need Help!

Whoa Baby!

So a couple days ago we noticed Kiley going crazy on her back, arching and trying her hardest to roll over, and finally she made it. It was a very exciting night. She suddenly realized she doesn't have to stay on her back and only play with whatever toys and things that are in her reach. She rolled to one side, grabbed a little toy hanging off this baby mat thing that has an overhang deal with stuff hanging from it like a mirror and lights and sounds maker. She tore one of the toys off, threw it done below her feet. She rolled back to her back, saw another toy down by her feet, and somehow rolled over and reached down there to play with her other toy by her feet, and went crazy for about 25 minutes moving around and playing with stuff that would have been out of her reach. I think it's a great thing, and I'm excited for her to start going into this next phase which should be a lot of fun. But with that comes a little apprehension. It's been kind of nice to not really have much to worry about while watching her, leave her on her back on a blanket while you run to the kitchen, or bathroom, no problem. Now, you need to make sure she'll be safe if you aren't watching her closely 100%. Mostly it's a little unsettling just to think about her becoming a little bit more independent. Sure it can make somethings a little easier, but I sort of like that she has to depend on us for everything. All said, I couldn't be happier that she's making these steps and getting stronger and smarter. I hope she doesn't stop, I also hope she doesn't stop needing mom and dad too though.

Shawn's T.V. Picks

I just finished reading Michelle's last post about what she likes to watch on T.V. Now I'll tell you all what I like to watch on T.V. It mostly begins and ends with sports, and some educational type crappy stuff that not most can enjoy like I can.
I like to learn lots of new interesting things, I'm really into geography and weird history type stuff but I can enjoy a good history show from time to time as well.
But mainly I would choose to watch sports more often than anything else except that Michelle hates watching sports most of the time. This doesn't bode well with the baseball season just kicking off. My favorite team to watch, the Padres, unfortunately don't come on our local cable channels unless they are playing the Dodgers, Angels, or an ESPN game of the week. Apparently we're an L.A. market (even if we are closer to San Diego). I guess it's a good thing that I can't get all 162 Padres games, so I won't have to put Michelle out of her Mind.
I like a few of the sitcoms out there, Michelle got me into watching Lost. It's kind of a guilty pleasure, but I swear it's more than just a soap opera in an exotic setting, there's decent substance behind it. Rob and Big is one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. I like learning about different places I would like to travel to some day, but not from the mostly lame shows on the Travel Channel. I love the History Channel. I like to know why things are the way they are, or why certain things are significant and learning it's history is one of the best ways of finding that out. I guess science is another good way to learn too, but it doesn't interest me too much.
I'm not too much of a movies on T.V. kind of guy, it just seems like they're not the same as if you just rent it or go to the theater. Plus the kind of movies they show usually aren't all that great.
Well I guess that's a pretty good basic insight into what I like to watch, and I'll have to get back on here more often. Kind of fun getting that out there for people to see. And by people I mean the 2 or 3 members of the family who will actually look at this, and the 1 or 2 who won't stop before getting to the end.

Reality TV Junkie

I guess I would consider myself a little bit addicted to Reality TV. I'm pretty sure I've seen at least one episode of any reality show that has ever been on TV.
My favorites are Big Brother and Survivor. The funny thing about it is that I really don't even like most of the reality shows, but they entertain me SO much. Whether it's Beauty and the Geek, Rock of Love or even Hell's Kitchen I watch it all. I don't watch every episode of every season, but enough to know what's going on. Shawn is nice enough to watch SOME shows with me, but he refuses to watch Flavor of Love and Rock of Love.
So, if anyone watches a reality show and wants to gossip about it, call me! - Michelle
