Seems like he's always leaving, but hopefully this will be the last "long" deployment.
Shawn left for Afghanistan today. We just dropped him off with about 40 other marines from his unit. Shawn said there would be a total of about 320 marines flying out together, so it's gonna be a full flight.
I'm already missing him, the first few days are always the hardest. Kiley's holding up really well. She didn't cry, but once we got home, she said she already missed Shawn. We already sat her down and let her know that Shawn would be gone for her b-day and for x-mas. We just didn't want those things to come as a surprise later.
Shawn should be home maybe January or February of 2014. Can't wait for his return :)
