Black Belt

On Friday, Shawn finished his class and became a Black Belt in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program! After several weeks of 4 hour classes that begin at 6am, he finally finished the course and, just in time...He is leaving his unit this week to attend recruiter's school in San Diego.

FAMILY FUN CENTER

We went to Muligan's Family Fun Center tonight. Free pizza and free games so of course we went!

But Loved the big snake better. I figure the more we introduce her to, the less scared she will be in the future. I will not have a chicken-butt for a baby.

Then, Shawn, Joe, me, and cousins Jordan and Hailey went Bumper Boating. Joe felt it necessary to request a life preserver for the 3 ft 11 inches deep water. Never can be too safe I guess.

La Costa

This weekend, my favorite boss gave Shawn and I a fabulous night stay at the La Costa Resort in Carlsbad. At check-in we got a room upgrade because the woman at the counter said she loved Marines. Our room was beautiful. Our room had a fireplace, jacuzi bathtub, HUGE shower, and even a private balcony. Shawn and I ate at at the "Blue Fire" restaurant for dinner. This is the kind of restaurant where you actually don't know what 1/2 the stuff is on the menu, but you've heard the name because you watched an episode of Top Chef! It was VERY good. We were able to sleep in late on Sunday and had brunch at the "Legends" restaurant which was also delicious.

Just in case you were wondering where Kiley was...we didn't forget about her, but she went and spent the night with Aunt Nancy and Uncle Robert. They say she was a perfect angel.

My Girl

I guess I'm one of those moms who thinks their baby is the cutest baby ever, but I really don't care. I love this girl. We don't have a ton of time together in the morning before work, but we always have time for a photo shoot!
